Wendy A. Hubbard, age 53 of Beaver Dam, peacefully surrendered her nine year battle with cancer on Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home.
Wendy was born on September 4, 1960 to Wayne “Hooks” and May Rose (nee Mertes) Werner in Beaver Dam. She graduated from Horicon High School and earned an associate degree in accounting. She worked at Metal Craft in Mayville for 18 years. On October 5, 2002 she was united in marriage to Steve Hubbard in Beaver Dam.
Wendy’s courage and spirit will continue to be an inspiration to many. She loved her family and friends dearly. Wendy loved to golf and won Club Championships at the Beaver Dam Country Club multiple times. She also enjoyed knitting, swimming, traveling and gardening.
Wendy is survived by her husband, Steve of Beaver Dam; her father, Wayne “Hooks” Werner of Horicon; her siblings, Scott (Paula) Werner of Juneau, Jenny (Bob) Scharpf of Horicon and Julie (John) Porten of Horicon; her beloved cat, Buddy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, May Rose Werner on February 15, 2009.
A Memorial Service for Wendy will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. A Memorial Gathering will take place prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
