Donald A. Willey, age 81 of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Waupun Christian Home.

Don was born on November 11, 1932 in the Town of Erin, Washington County, WI to Silas and Mildred (nee Ridgley) Willey. He was united in marriage to Hildred “Hildy” Partridge on March 17, 1952 in Waukesha, WI. Don proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for over 50 years, with more than 30 of those years as an owner/operator. Over the years, he earned several safely awards from various companies.

Don collected model trains and enjoyed making buildings and scenery for his train layout. He was a member of HOPE train club, Fox Lake American Legion Post #15 and a lifetime member of Owner Operator Association. Don attended services at Waupun Baptist Church. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his unending love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Hildy Willey of Fox Lake; his children, Bonnie (Larry) McClanathan of Fox Lake, Roger Willey of Eau Claire, Richard (Sheila) Willey of Fond du Lac and David Willey of Fond du Lac; his grandchildren, Tanya (Jeff) Witthun, Nicole (Corey) Welch, Traci (Bill) Kennedy, Heather Willey, Nathan Willey, Aryn Delvaux, April (Josh) Compton; his great-grandchildren, Gunner and Preston Witthun, Payton and Shaelyn Welch, McKenzie and Riley Kennedy, Logan, Samara and Ashton Compton and Michel Perry; and his brother, Silas (Marilyn) Willey of Lincoln, AR. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his five siblings, John and Shirley, both in childhood, Jim, Robert and Francis.

A Funeral Service for Donald will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam, with Rev. Robert Love Sr. officiating.  Visitation will take place prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fox Lake with graveside military honors provided by Fox Lake American Legion Post #15.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Agnesian Hospice Hope and Waupun Christian Home for their loving care of Don.
