Obituary: Guse, Debra K.

Debra “Debbie” K. Guse, age 55 of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Debbie was born on December 5, 1958 in Beaver Dam, WI to Winston and Violet (nee Ott) McMillan. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1977. Debbie was united in marriage to Carl Guse on September 17, 1988 in Mayville. She graduated from the nursing program at Moraine Park in Fond du Lac in 1980 and worked as a nurse at Lakeview Nursing Home and Hillside Manor.  She also enjoyed the time that she stayed at home raising her two daughters. Debbie spent many hours volunteering at St. Stephen’s Lutheran School during her daughters’ school years, and she also supported the Dodge County Humane Society. She was a member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, flower gardening and taking care of her outdoor cats.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Carl of Beaver Dam; her daughters, Natalie and Bethany Guse of Beaver Dam; her mother, Violet McMillan of Beaver Dam; her sisters, Lori (Jan) Molinaro of Enumclaw, WA and Nancy (Jim) Szopinski of Beaver Dam; her mother-in-law, Ann Guse of Mayville; two brothers-in-law, David Guse of Brookfield and Dan (Sarah) Guse of Fond du Lac and three sisters-in-law, Clare (Brian Wichman) Guse of Wauwatosa, Joan (Alfred) Wittrien of New Jersey and Joyce Guse of West Allis.  She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Winston in 2011, her father-in-law, Richard Guse in 2012 and other relatives.  

A Funeral Service for Debra will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, 1310 N. Center St. with Rev. Collin Vanderhoof officiating.  Visitation will take place on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and also on Saturday prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam. A luncheon will follow the burial at Cornerstone.

Memorials in Debra’s name may be directed to the Dodge County Humane Society or Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church.
