Obituary: Mable DeVoy

Mable DeVoy, age 75, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014.

Mable was born on January 29, 1939 in Atlanta, TX to Delbert and Mary (nee Sisson) Byrum. She graduated from Atlanta High School. On June 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Donald DeVoy in Reeseville, WI. Mable enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of all of her family. Her hobbies included bowling, knitting, crocheting and playing BINGO at the Senior Center.

Mable is survived by her daughters, Lorie (Robert) Riege of Beaver Dam and Kay (Mark Tomashek) Schlichting of Juneau; her grandchildren, Mathew (Nicole) Uttech, Nicholas Uttech, Kelly (Matthew Wagner) Uttech, Jennifer (James) Jacobson and Bridgette (Todd) Hermenson; her great-grandchildren, Sadie, Nicholas Jr., Lucas, Jackson and Olivia Uttech, Alex and Dana Jacobson; her step-mother, Bessie Byrum of Atlanta, TX; her siblings, Carrel (Grover Dean) Byrum and Lynette (Jerry) Quinn, both of Atlanta, TX; brother-in-law Charles DeVoy of Tucson, AZ; two step-sisters, LaRuth and Deon of Atlanta, TX; two aunts, Polly (Floyd) Deloy and Mable Seale, both of Atlanta, TX. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Regina and other relatives.

A Memorial Service for Mable will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. A Memorial Gathering will take place prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam.  

Memorials in Mable’s name may be directed to Green Valley Enterprises, 1223 Madison St., Beaver Dam.
