Obituary: Dorothy Margory Gifford

Dorothy Margory Gifford, age 80 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. 

Dorothy was born on May 8, 1933 on her grandpa’s farm in Elba, WI, the daughter of Carl W. and Margaret D. (nee Lange) Kraft. A graduate of Beaver Dam High School, Dorothy worked as a waitress at several area restaurants. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering through many different area organizations. She loved doing crafts, feeding the ducks and birds in her backyard and going for long country drives. She was also a member of the Dodge County Antique Power Club.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Vickey Thompson of Beaver Dam, Michael (Monica) Planasch of Juneau and Terry Klutterman of Madison; her grandchildren, Jared and Jonah (Jessica) Thompson, both of South Carolina, Tiffany (Gary) Planasch-Schultz of Horicon and Tieraney Planasch of Green Bay; her cat, Lil Button and her dog, Shadow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chuck Gifford, and other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Dorothy will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Leipsig Cemetery, Town of Beaver Dam.
