Marjorie “Margie” Schmidt
Marjorie “Margie” Schmidt, 81, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at her home.
A funeral service for Marjorie will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 300 West Street, Beaver Dam, with the Pastor Paul Stratman officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday, May 9th from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at church. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Marjorie was born the daughter of Erwin and Adela (Rupnow) Miller on October 15, 1932 in Beaver Dam, WI. She is a 1950 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Marge was united in marriage to Arlo Schmidt on December 15, 1951 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam by Rev. Kirst.
Margie was a lifelong faithful member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Margie and Arlo enjoyed exploring the countryside with car rides. Together they raised five wonderful children.
Marjorie is survived by children: Kathleen (Glenn) Barnett of Beaver Dam, Jeffrey (Gloria) Schmidt of Waupun, Michael (Debbie) Schmidt of Fond du Lac, Paul (Mary Ann) Schmidt of Juneau, and Julie (Jeff) Surprise of Beaver Dam; her sister: Caryl (Jesse) Meloling of Dewey, AZ; 8 grandchildren: Becky (Andy) Voigt and their children Aiden and Keagen, Stephanie (Kurt) Wiedenhoeft and their son Miles, Dale (Cassandra) Schmidt and their daughter Caitlyn, Jennifer (Dan) Van Rooy, Lucas (Michelle) Schmidt, Anna Schmidt and her daughter Ava, Erick Schmidt, and Emily Schmidt; and her sister-in-law Charlotte Neitzel, She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arlo, her brother Donald in infancy, her brother-in-law Lester Neitzel, and her niece LeiLoni Duarte.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
