Gladys L. Volek, age 84, of Columbus, died on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.
The visitation will be at Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Wilke officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.
The former Gladys Lorraine Benisch was born on March 4, 1930 in Columbus, Wisconsin to John and Elizabeth (Gerke) Benisch. She was united in marriage with Edward Volek and he preceded her in death in 2011. Gladys was a faithful member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Survivors are her children, Bonnell K. (William) Schmidt of Waupaca, Mark (Jean Callies-Volek) Volek of Neshkoro, and Susan Pribbenow (Patrick Blackley) of Portage; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters.
