Obituary: Carol A. Nyka

Carol A. Nyka, age 69 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Carol was born on June 4, 1945 in Beaver Dam to Ralph and Opal (Hare) Nyka. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1963. Carol worked for 30 years at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Milwaukee. After retiring, she returned to Beaver Dam. Carol’s enjoyment in life was watching her beloved nieces and nephews have families of their own and the occasional Schaumburg’s fish fry with an old fashioned. 

Carol is survived by her brother, Ralph (Janis) Nyka of Beaver Dam; her sisters, Georgia (Gordon) Kasmiskie of Denver, CO and Linda (James) Geiger of Windsor; 9 nieces and nephews, Cindy Zavilla, Jerry Jones, Candy Palmiteer, Jack Jones, Jill Schepp, Brenda Phebus, Bridget Winters, Mark Nyka, Carrie Barrett and special godchild, Jason Palmiteer.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Nyka (1979); her mother, Opal Nyka (2001) and her sister, Corrine Jones (2003).

In honoring Carol’s wishes, a private family service will be held and burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton.
