Deloris S. Schwartz, age 83, of Beaver Dam, died on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Hillside Manor.
The visitation will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Friday at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Michael J. Erwin officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
The former Deloris Stella Powers was born on June 8, 1931 in the Town of Beaver Dam, to Martin and Stella (Ramsuer) Powers. She was united in marriage with Clifford Schwartz on June 24, 1950 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Columbus, Wisconsin. Deloris worked at Weyenberg Shoe Factory for many years. She later worked for Beaver Dam Community Hospital for 15 years as a nursing assistant. She diligently cut coupons and made cards for our active military personnel and our veterans. Deloris was a long-time member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
Survivors are her sons, Kenneth (Roberta) Schwartz of Beaver Dam and Dale (Sandy) Schwartz of Columbus; daughters, Jody (David) Lange of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Kip, K.C., and Jenny Schwartz, and Kristle Lange; brothers, Wayne (Darlene) Powers of Astico, Richard (Sharon) Powers of Fall River, and Gary (Judy) Powers of Fall River; sisters, Janet Powers of Columbus and Annette Powers of Columbus; sister-in-law, Kathy Powers of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Jim Schwartz; two infant grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Salsweldel and her brother Donald Powers.
