Obituary: Ruth E. Graff

Ruth E. Graff, age 85, of Beaver Dam, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Ruth will be at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM.  On Wednesday, August 13, 2014, there will be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM; a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM.  Fr. Michael J. Erwin will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Ruth was born on March 12, 1929 in Merrimac, Wisconsin to the late George and Helen (Beich) Dittberner.  On September 15, 1951, she was united in marriage with Richard Graff in Beaver Dam.  Ruth and Richard farmed in rural Beaver Dam for many years and they were also custodians at Hyland Prairie Elementary School for close to twenty years.  She had many joyful years planting flowers in her garden and around the house.  Ruth and Richard enjoyed Polka dancing and traveling, especially in their retirement years.  She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish.

Survivors include her three children, David (Kathy) Graff of Juneau, Kathy (Steve) Reifsnider of Juneau, and Annette (Steve) Duckett of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren; Jeremy Graff (Heather Avellone), Sarah Sullivan (Reed Luneau), Troy Reifsnider, and Allison Reifsnider; two step grandchildren, Jayme Duckett and Stephanie Duckett; AFS daughter, Cathy (Mike) Fischer of New York; a sister, Vivian Karst of Burnett; three brothers, Russell (Pat) Dittberner of Horicon, Robert (Sandra) Dittberner of Merrimac, and Merlin “Sam” (Nancy) Dittberner of Beaver Dam; her sister-in-law, JoAnne (Art) Hammann of Sun Prairie; other relatives and friends.  Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, George, Kenneth and Harold Dittberner; brother-in-law, Kenneth Karst; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Dittberner, Caroline Dittberner, and Gladys Dittberner, and Rosemarie Born and her Husband Robert.
