Obituary: Frances M. Alderden

Frances M. Alderden, 80 years of age, went to her heavenly father on August 25, 2014 at the Charleston House Memory Care in Beaver Dam.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd., Beaver Dam with the Rev. Jeff Nicholas officiating.  A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Township of Trenton the following day.

Frances was born on September 26, 1933 to Lester and Bertha (Parrell) Seibel in Portage, WI. She was united in marriage to Marvin “Whitey” Alderden, Sr. on September 25, 1954.  She was a member of Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam. 

Frances was hardworking – canning and freezing from huge gardens and making most of her children’s clothes. When her children grew older she worked in the lunch program for 20 years at Beaver Dam High School, always slipping extra cookies to her oldest grandchildren. Frances loved camping, watching the Packers and reading Danielle Steele books.

Frances will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren (who called her Grandma Whitey), along with other relatives and friends.

Frances is survived by her children Patricia Umland, Marvin (Sue Gross) Alderden Jr., Janice (Craig) Wild, and Timothy (Connie) Alderden; her grandchildren Greg (Amy) Schaalma, Chad Schaalma, Ryan (Amber Wille) Umland, Rylee Umland, Eric (fiancée Lindsay Pollins) Wild, Stacy (Chris) Nelson, Krista Wild, Amanda (Alirio) Pardo, Mellissa (Tiburcio) Rodriguez, Jeremiah Alderden, Joshua Alderden, Maria (Christian) Wendlandt, Saskia Alderden, Josiah Alderden, Micah Alderden; her great-grandchildren Hannah Schaalma, Rebekah Schaalma, Andrew Schaalma, Natalie Schaalma, Jayden Wille, Gabriel Umland, Dylan Wild, Logan Wild, Lexi Wild, Trinity Wild, Andre Pardo,  Alexy Pardo, Antoni Pardo, Alonso Pardo, and two more great-grandchildren on the way.

Frances is further survived by her brother Frank (Alexis) Seibel, her sisters-in-law Nancy Seibel, Kay (Tom) Rosenthal, Irene (Richard) Rothgeb, Winette (Arnold) Gallenbeck, Marcella Alderden, and Corrine (Frank) Kiekaefer.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin on November 17, 2001, her brothers Dale in 1993 & Harold in 2014, her great granddaughter Lillie Ann in 2009, her father and mother-in-law Ace and Jenny Alderden, and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Helen and Bernie Bartelt, Frank Brooks and Clarence Alderden.

Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Church – United Methodist Parish Nurse Fund.

The family would like to thank the Charleston House and their wonderful employees for the years of great care they gave Mom. Also, to Generations Hospice- you were wonderful in the support you gave to both Mom and our family. Also thank you to Dr. Amy Muchow, as well as Julie and Denna for the loving care you gave Mom.
