(WEST BEND, WI) Sunday, September 7 is National Grandparents Day and to celebrate the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) is hosting a day designed especially for grandparents and grandchildren from 10:00 to 5:00. Sponsored by Lighthouse of West Bend, MOWA members are invited to turn back the clock to the 1950s for this fun, retro-inspired themed day for both the young and young-at-heart.
Activities throughout the day include a hands-on retro studio art project, a photo booth with 50s style props, a guided tour of the museum, 50s inspired piano music by Phil Hway, nostalgic goodies, and more! Celebrating the last week of the exhibition, John Steuart Curry: At Home in Wisconsin, MOWA is excited to bring to life some of the animals pictured in Curry’s famous rural art scenes by welcoming back the furry farmyard friends from Roden Barnyard Adventures.
“MOWA is delighted to put on this special day to honor grandparents and is grateful to Lighthouse of West Bend for its support of MOWA and the community,” said Laurie Winters, MOWA Executive Director | CEO. “The day is designed for grandparents and grandchildren of all ages. From babies and toddlers, to teenagers and adults, all are welcome to treat their grandparents to this fun and memorable day at MOWA!”
All activities throughout Grandparents Day at MOWA are free for MOWA members. For more information about the day or how to be become a member, visit wisconsinart.org.
