Linda “Lynn” Johnsgard, age 65 of The Dalles, Oregon, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, at the Vibra Specialty Hospital in Portland, Oregon from complications of diabetes.
Lynn was born on May 3, 1949, the daughter of Rudy and Edna (Posthuma) Cupery. She attended Friesland Grade School and graduated from Cambria Union High School, Class of 1967. She spent her childhood years enjoying life on the family dairy farm. She moved to Urbana, IL, employed by the Police Training Institute, and later moved to Oregon, taking a position with Sprint telephone and then with a local insurance agent in The Dalles, OR.
Lynn is survived by Jim, her husband of 23 years; a brother, Mark (Joanne) Cupery of Beaver Dam; a sister, Sheryl (Jim) Tibbets of Irrigon, OR; 4 step-sons, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lynn enjoyed her family, her relatives and many friends, showing numerous acts of kindness to all those around her, from cards, flowers, gifts and entertaining by providing her wonderful meals. She also enjoyed her animals and the companionships they offered.
A Memorial Service for Lynn will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at 2:30 pm at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Rev. Jeffery Nicholas officiating. A Memorial Gathering will be held prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, a luncheon will be served at Cornerstone. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Friesland Cemetery.
Memorials in Lynn’s name may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
