James E. Pearson, age 72 of Juneau and Tomahawk, WI passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk after a courageous battle with cancer.

James was born on May 2, 1942 to Minnie (Jowers) and Sim Pearson in Cuba, AL. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Schoppe on September 1, 1962 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Grove, WI. He worked at Aunt Nellie’s in Clyman and spent 30 years working at John Deere in Horicon before retiring. After retirement, he worked part-time for 5 years at FedEx in Horicon.

James enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He was an avid NASCAR, Packers and Brewers fan; he also loved his Alabama Roll Tide. He enjoyed his family and liked spending time with his grandchildren and going to all of their sports activities.

James is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou of Tomahawk; two children, Brenda (Robert) Propst of Beaver Dam and Gary (Sue) Pearson of Columbus; four grandchildren, Steven and Mitchell Propst, Alissa and Blake Pearson; his brothers, Mo, Sim Jr. (Brenda), Walter (Debbie) and Charlie (Marcella); one sister, Dorthy; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Willie T, J.W. Tommy, Robert Earl, Bill; two sisters, Maurine and Minnie Irene.

Visitation for James will be on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone. Rev. Roger Grosnick & Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery and a luncheon will be held back at Cornerstone.
