October 4th – Beaver Dam Pepper Festival

The first annual Beaver Dam Pepper Festival will be this weekend on Saturday October 4th! 

The event will be held at The Park Village Shopping Center, Hwys 151 & 33 Interchange, Beaver Dam; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is a brand new event celebrating a variety of European pepper plant first cultivated in the United States in the late 1800s in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and known in America since then as the Beaver Dam Pepper. 

A variety of fun, family activities is planned for the day. Vendors will be selling fresh food items with the Beaver Dam Pepper, raw peppers and there will be recipes contests using the pepper.

 

10am Kick off the event w/Brenda Murphy from WXRO/WBEV 
10:15am   Beaver Dam Community Hospital welcome everyone and chat about the hospital and benefits of eating good food like the BD Pepper

10:30am   Mayor Kennedy will present a “pin to the city” for all the families involved with bringing the Beaver Dam Pepper seeds to the country
11:00am

  Mr. Steve  **kids show will perform
noon – 2pm   Beaver Dam’s Most Wanted will perform
2:15 – 2:45pm   Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre will have a performance featuring the Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz and have lollie pops for all the kids
3pm – 5pm   The Characters band will perform
 

There will be various foods featuring the Beaver Dam Pepper throughout the day. Proceeds benefit the Beaver Dam Area Arts Association and the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Foundation.

Edith’s will be making a signature BD Pepper burger:  grilled burger topped w/sauteed BD Peppers, onions and cream cheese

AmericInn and the BD County Club will be offering a “Stay and Play” package

Chippy’s Popcorn will have a signature BD Pepper Popcorn
