Obituary: Elizabeth “Beth” Anne Aplin

Elizabeth “Beth” Anne Aplin passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 8, 2014 at the UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Beth was born on October 25th, 1967 in Beaver Dam to Robert R. and Elizabeth J. (McConochie) Braun. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and was a member of the Beaver Dam High School Class of 1985. She was married to Robert Aplin on November 16, 1990 in Des Moines, IA. She was currently employed at Bayside Supper Club and the Beaver Dam Unified School District.

Beth was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, as well as being the best daughter a parent could ever hope for. Her children were her life and she was always very proud of their many accomplishments in music, sports and academics.

Beth is survived by her husband of 24 years Robert “Rob” Aplin and together they raised seven children: Nicholas (Whitney) Borden of Appleton, Rebecca (Brian) Borden-Miller of Fox Lake, Emily of Lodi, Mitchell of LaCrosse, Fletcher of Eau Claire, Peyton and Elizabeth “Ellie” at home.

She is further survived by her mother Elizabeth “BJ” Braun of Beaver Dam, her brother Barrett (fiancée Michelle Kwon) Braun of Milwaukee and a sister Jessalyn Braun of Beaver Dam.

She is also survived by three granddaughters, Elizabeth “Ella” Rose Miller, Layla Rae Borden and Alexa Marie Miller.

She is additionally survived by her mother-in-law, Barbara Aplin of Beaver Dam, father-in-law, Kenneth (Annie) Aplin of Horseshoe Bend, AR; brothers-in-law, Ron Aplin (friend Tess Maier) of Deerfield, Dave (Marianne) of Homer, AK, Dan (Lisa) of Horicon, John (Sherry) of Texas; sisters-in-law, Mary Aplin of Beaver Dam and Linda (Kelly) Bilke of Beaver Dam.

She is also survived by many beloved aunts (special Aunt Linda Challen), uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

When meeting Beth you were immediately captured by her warmth, compassion and intelligence. She made many friends with her ability to make everyone feel special and important. You were struck by her simple beauty, elegance and grace, but what was truly amazing was her loving heart and good soul. She selflessly worked to raise her children, and they meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Beth was preceded in death by her father Robert R. Braun, on June 21st, 2014, her paternal grandparents, Helen and Herman Braun, her maternal grandparents, W.J. (Chris) and Elizabeth “Betty” McConochie, her cousins, Mark and Michael Uherka, Anthony Braun, Cindy Hanefeld and Russel Hanefeld, aunts and uncles (special aunt Jill McConochie) and uncle Nicholas John August McConochie on October 6th, 2014.

Visitation for Elizabeth will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam and also on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
