Obituary: Norman W. Grahn

Norman W. Grahn, 80, of 104 Clarence Court, Beaver Dam passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Revs. Mark Jensen and Terry Larson officiating.  A visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd., Beaver Dam, and also on Tuesday from Noon until 1 p.m. at the church.  Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam with military honors conducted by the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 of Beaver Dam.

Norman Walter was born the son of Walter and Mrytle (Zuelke) Grahn on January 21, 1934 in Markesan.  He was married to Orgine Wendt on August 16, 1958 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  Norm was a 1952 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1953 until 1957 where he handled the navel mail on a ship.  Norm was a hardworking, dedicated and friendly man who loved his job. He was employed by the USPS for 56 years as a mail carrier.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Norm is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 56 years, Orgine of Beaver Dam; his two sons: Bruce (Amy) Grahn of Beaver Dam and Kevin (Doreen) Grahn of Waupun; four grandchildren: Adam (Dezarae) Grahn of Weston, WI, Jessica (Chris) Grahn Edwards of Juneau, Brianna (fiance Trevor North) Grahn of Sun Prairie and Chelsea (fiance Callon Andrews) Grahn of Sun Prairie; eight grandchildren: Taylor, Kyleigh, Mikaela, Ashlynn, Kendall, Treyton, Hannah and Carsen; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Myrtle, his father and mother-in-law, Alfred and Marie Wendt, and his daughter, Shelley Grahn Keikhaefer.

Memorials may be directed to First Ev. Lutheran Church or to Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre Building Fund both of Beaver Dam.
