Obituary: Dean P. Hupf

Dean P. Hupf, 59 years old, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Hillside Manor Nursing Home, Beaver Dam.

A visitation will be held at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Mike Erwin officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam at a later date.

Dean was born on October 5, 1955 to Jerome and Monita Ann (Bortz) Hupf in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was a 1974 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and went on to serve in the Marine Corp. but was diagnosed with cancer while on leave from boot camp. He courageously fought cancer for forty years, never losing his ability to enjoy each day that was given to him. Dean worked for the postal service, delivering mail in the city of Beaver Dam for 30 years. He was an avid bowler and golfer, with a 300 game and a hole in one at the Beaver Dam Country Club. Dean enjoyed fishing and was a movie buff. He looked forward to going to the movies every Wednesday night or going to the races with friends. In the land of cheeseheads, Dean was a loyal Viking fan. His smile will be missed by many.

Dean is survived by his brothers & sister, David (Judy) Hupf of Santee, CA, Darryl (Deb) Hupf of Beaver Dam, Douglas Hupf of Clarksville, TN, Dwain (Kathy) Hupf of Beaver Dam, Delton Hupf of Clarksville, TN, and Dawn (Jeff) Luck of Beaver Dam; his sister-in-law, Dianne Hupf of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; Debbie Sires; and brother, Dale.
