Obituary: Gwendolyn G. Ebert

Gwendolyn G. Ebert, 80, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd., Beaver Dam, and also on Saturday, November 29th from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday at church with the Rev. Paul Stratman officiating.  Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. 

Gwendolyn Grace was born the daughter of Harry and Volga (Boeder) Ziehme on October 20, 1934 in Beaver Dam.  She was married to Norman C. Ebert on August 1, 1953 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  Gwen was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and later became licensed as a Real Estate agent in Wisconsin.  She and her husband owned and operated Ebe’s Tepee in Beaver Dam.  Also, for her entire working career, Gwen sold residential real estate first with Glen Knaup Real Estate and later with Century 21 for many years. 

Gwen was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  She enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers and loved her pets, especially her dachshund, Roo. 

Gwen is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Donald) Herbst of Beaver Dam; her two grandchildren: Becki (special friend, Ashley Welak) Herbst and Matthew (Denise) Herbst both of Beaver Dam; her two great-grandchildren: Morgan Bronk and Ava Herbst; and further survived by other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Norman in 2001.

Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church Window Restoration Fund or to the Dodge County Humane Society.
