On Monday November 24, 2014, I lost the love of my life and my rock.  I guess the good Lord needed her more.  Even though she never felt it, she touched many people during her short stay on this earth.  Gladys was always putting family and friends ahead of herself.  She passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison after an extremely short, but hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Visitation for Gladys will be at St. Katherine Drexel Church, 511 S Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 10:50 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael J. Erwin officiating.  Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

The former Gladys Sadowske was born on August 1, 1950 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Leonard and Pearl (Wagner) Sadowske.  She was united in marriage with Rodger Mattson on April, 29, 1983.  Gladys was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish as well as the John E. Miller American Legion Auxiliary Post 146 of Beaver Dam.

Survivors include her husband, Rodger Mattson of Beaver Dam; her daughter, Sheri (William) Herman of Neenah; her sister and brother, Margaret (Floyd) Kitelinger of Hixton; Thomas (Pamela) Sadowske of Waupun; a sister-in-law, Dawn Sadowske of Beaver Dam; her step-mother Lorraine (Link) Sadowske of Beaver Dam; three step-brothers Randall (Diane) Link of North Fond du Lac, Terry (special friend Laura) Link of Beaver Dam; and Jeffrey Link of Beaver Dam.  She is further survived by her Mother-in-law Mary Lou Bradley, of Columbus; her sister-in-laws Vickie Riske, of Tampa, Florida; Cynthia (Dale) Firary of Fall River; Patricia (Tracy) Busse of Columbus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward Sadowske.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society for pancreatic cancer research or St. Katherine Drexel’s capital improvement fund.
