Obituary: Mary D. Becker

Mary D. Becker, 76 years old, of Iron Ridge, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center, Hartford, WI.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 22nd at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Woodland at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Daniel Babinec officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21st from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church, and on Monday, December 22nd from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at church.

Mary Doreen Wiersma was born on April 20, 1938 to William and Margaret (Williams) Wiersma, Sr. in Cambria, WI. She was united in marriage to Curtis C. Becker on July 27, 1957 in Hustisford, WI. Together with her husband & family she owned and operated Beck-R-Lan Farms.

Mary was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodland. She was a member of St. John Ladies Aid and St. John’s Choir. Mary enjoyed baking, especially her schaum torte, gardening, and sitting on her porch watching her chickens. She loved taking rides on her Ranger with her dog Hermie-Dog, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by: her children- James Becker of Iron Ridge, Joy Becker of Darien, Jerome (fiancée Denise Moser) Becker of Lebanon, Judy Baerwald of Iron Ridge, John (fiancée Pam DeVries) Becker of Iron Ridge, Joel Becker of Iron Ridge; sisters & brothers- Charles Wiersma of Waupun, Robert (Linda) Wiersma of Portage, Evelyn Leystra of Cambria, Catherine Pixler of Madison, Linda Neuman of Beaver Dam, Dorothy Whitrock of Beaver Dam, Larry (Crystal) Wiersma of Beaver Dam, Harvey (Lana) Wiersma of Columbus, and Joyce (Gordon) Henderson of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren Nichelle Becker, Meg & Logan Becker, Ashley, Joshua, Cody Baerwald, Heather, Amber, Amanda, Samantha & Stephanie Becker, 2 great grandchildren- Matteo & Christian; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Curtis in 2008, and infant son Daniel, her sisters- Shirley Krueger, Mabel Thomas, Alice Evans, her brothers-James, Willard, William Jr., Howard, and Henry.

Memorials may be made to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Woodland.
