Here's Gandalf the Grey, celebrating Tolkien's 122 birthday. And, as it turns out, the last installment of "The Hobbit" is playing at theaters.
Tolkien's famous "Lord of the Rings" trilogy focuses on a Ring of Power, which provides tremendous powers to the ring bearer, but with that absolute power comes absolute evil. Hence the protagonists' quest is to destroy the ring, because no one can be trusted with that kind of power.
"The most improper job of any man . . . is bossing other men. Not one in a million is fit for it, and least of all those who seek the opportunity."
