Obituary: Mark J. Stickles

Mark J. Stickles, age 76 of Markesan, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.

Mark was born on October 12, 1938 in Chicago, IL, the son of Arthur and Mary Ann (Collins) Stickles. Having scarlet fever at a young age, Mark continued to be a very tenacious, good-hearted and open-minded. He enjoyed farming and loved working with all animals, especially his dogs. He was a very talented artist prior to losing his vision. He will always be remembered for being a jokester and a very generous soul.

Mark is survived by his brothers, Jim Stickler of Markesan and Charles Stickler of Burnett, his sister-in-law, Pat Stickler, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dave.

A Funeral Service for Mark will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Burial will take place at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.
