Obituary: Mary K. Welch

Mary K. Welch, age 94, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the Golden Living Continental Manor in Randolph.

The visitation for Mary will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 9:30 AM until the time of service. The service we be at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Christopher E. Davis officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Mary was born on May 26, 1920, in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin, to Peter and Mary (Sturm) Ollinger. On December 13, 1941, she was united in marriage with Arnold Welch in Madison. To this union, three children were born. In 1945, Mary and Arnold took over the family farm and operated it until they retired in 1980.  Mary was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and a past member of Hickory Nut Homemakers. She enjoyed playing Euchre with her friends and spending time with her family.

Mary will never be forgotten by her two children, Kathleen (Terry) Mason, Beaver Dam, and Charles (Darlene) Welch, Beaver Dam, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Mary was the last leaf on her family tree having been preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers and four sisters; she was also preceded in death by her husband and a son, Thomas L. Welch.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Mary’s name to Grace Presbyterian Church.
