Who will be the next Beaver Dam Singing Star?
It’s up to you to decide!

 

The audience gets to be judge and select the first Beaver Dam Singing Star at The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre. Show dates are on January 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 pm.  The winner will receive $500 and is selected by audience votes accumulated over the three nights.  Each performance will have all new songs chosen by the contestants.  

Tickets are $11.00 at Rechek’s Food Pride in Beaver Dam.  920-887-7675.  Beaver Dam Singing Star is sponsored by the Alliant Energy Foundation.

Fourteen contestants have been selected from the first round of auditions to compete in the Beaver Dam Singing Star.  Let’s meet the performers…

Aryana Barudin currently attends Wayland Academy.  In addition to performing in the school choirs, she has had several years of voice lessons.  She has had the honor of singing the National Anthem at a Milwaukee Bucks basketball game and has competed at the state level for solo ensemble.

Alexandra Breitzman from Waupun sang throughout high school in musical productions and with a vocal coach.  She’s currently recording her first original song and demo at a Fond du Lac studio and makes cover videos for her Facebook and YouTube Channels.  

 

Nikki Christensen is a senior at Oconomowoc high school.  She works with a vocal coach and performs with her school choirs.  Nikki also enjoys being active in the high school theatre department.  

Anna Marie Davidson comes from Portage and performs regularly at the Zona Gale Theatre.  She performs with her school choir and has won two other talent competitions.  

Zachary Dean has been on the BDACT stage many times.  He has recently graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in acting and a special emphasis in music performance.  He has worked with Kalliope Vocal Arts, The Pink Banana Theatre Company, The World’s Stage Theatre Company, and the Greendale Community Theatre.


Abigail Greatens had a busy high school career in the Treble Choir, Bel Canto Choir, and BD Swazz.  She currently sings for the rock group Chase the Legend and has performed at The Rave in Milwaukee.

Jay Greatens performed throughout his high school career and had several semesters of voice at college.  He has served as cantor for his church and has been a worship leader for many years.

 

Ashra Hall currently attends Watertown high school.  She has been active in many choruses and vocal ensembles throughout her school career.  She performs yearly at the Jefferson county fair as part of a drama project.

Edith Hinojosa is currently in the Bel Canto choir at Beaver Dam High School.  She has been in music classes most of her life and has competed in several talent competitions.  


Brienna Landsness has been taking voice lessons and has had lead roles in BDACT Jr. musicals including Once Upon A Mattress and Alice in Wonderland.


Elwood Lee has been playing and singing in bands in the area for many years.  He’s a self-taught musician with a family that claims he could sing before he could talk.  Currently you can see him performing with the band Under the Gun.

 

Ryan McCrumb lives in Waunakee and writes and produces his own music.  He is currently studying theatre arts at Edgewood College and has performed in many musical productions. 

 

Bailey Strahota is a student at Beaver Dam High School and a member of BD Swazz.  He’s had private lessons and performs with the high school choir.  You may have seen him perform in FOG or the high school productions of Pippin, Seussical, Bye Bye Birdie or Hello Dolly.


Stephen Uselman is from Watertown.  He’s had years of vocal training and involvement with chorus and musicals throughout high school and for two years of college.  He has performed with several bands including Riding Shotgun, One Shot Wally, and the doo-wop quartet 4ever 50s.  He is the winner of several other vocal competitions.
