Obituary: Ruben B. Greenfield

Ruben B. Greenfield, age 83 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Ruben was born on March 5, 1931 in the township of Trenton, the son of Ray and Hattie (Mulder) Greenfield. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On September 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sharon Maslowski in Waupun, WI. Ruben worked as a service technician at Sears for over 35 years.

Ruben was a sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Wisconsin Badger football and basketball teams. He enjoyed golfing and was a former member of Sunset Hills and Fox Lake Golf Clubs. He liked taking trips to Las Vegas and going to casinos. Ruben was a member of the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Sharon of Beaver Dam; his daughters, Lisa (Arthur) Buhalog and their sons, Benjamin and Bryan; Brenda (James) Bohl and their daughter Jessica (Mike) Hendrickson; and Amy (Ron) Schmitt and their sons, Jason and Jared, all of Beaver Dam; grand-pets, Bella and Emma; brothers, Harold (Carol) Greenfield of Waupun, Wayne (Rachel) Greenfield of Milwaukee; sister, Helena Kuiper of Washington; brother-in-law, Warren (Jeanette) Paul of Beaver Dam; sister-in-law, Kathy Greenfield of Illinois and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Gladys (Hank) VanHerwaarden; brothers, Clarence (Alyce), Donald, Robert; brother-in-law, Arthur Kuiper; sister-in-law, Mary Paul; father and mother-in-law, John and Genevieve Maslowski and other relatives.

A Memorial Gathering for Ruben will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 3-5pm at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with a Memorial Service to follow at 5pm. Chaplain Dennis Richards will officiate. Military honors will be presented by the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 immediately after the service at Cornerstone, followed by a luncheon. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.
