Obituary: Betty J. Young

Betty J. Young, 84, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Betty Jane was born the daughter of Roy and Edna (Stahmer) Allen on July 2, 1930 in Friesland, Wisconsin.  She was married to Joseph Haase, who preceded her in death in 1959.  Later, Betty was married to Eugene Young, who passed away in 1983.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  Betty enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and reading.  She also enjoyed her companionship with her beloved dogs Muffy and Oreo.

Betty is survived by her children: Ron (Nona) Haase of Beaver Dam, Pat (Jeff) Huebel of Beaver Dam and Kathleen (Joe) Ripp of De Forest; her six grandchildren: Jessica Haase, Amanda (fiancé Mark Navarro) Haase, Chris (Kerri) Huebel, Brian (fiancée Melissa Augustine) Huebel, Cailin (Chris) Fournier, and Megan (fiancé Jon Bucholtz) Wetzel; five great grandchildren: Caden and Carson Huebel, Sam, Deacon and Ella Fournier and another great grandchild expected in July; and her sister Shirley (Ron) Keach of Arkdale.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father Joe Wolf, her first and second husbands, her brother Donald Allen and her sister Marian Wakeley.

Funeral services for Betty will be held on Thursday, Jan 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with the Rev. Mark Wenzel officiating.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 28th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam and on Thursday, Jan. 29th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service also at the funeral home.  Private family inurnment will be at the Reeseville Cemetery.

Memorial donations for Betty may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or to the Dodge County Humane Society.
