Obituary: Mary Pogorelec

Mary Pogorelec, age 88, died peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 surrounded by her family at her home in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Mary will be at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM where a rosary service will be held at 6:45 PM.  Funeral services will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 with closing services at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home on Crystal Lake Road at 10:30 AM then to St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.  Fr. Michael J. Erwin will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Mary was born on December 8, 1926 in Frydman, Poland to the late Ludwik and Maria (Tomaszewski) Mysliwiec.  On November 19, 1944, she was united in marriage with Joseph Pogorelec.  Mary was the best mother and grandmother and was a wonderful example of a faithful and devout catholic.  Mary was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish.

She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Helena (Pierre) Adamczak of Beaver Dam and Mary Whitzell of Florida; four sons, Eugene (Candace) Pogorelec of Beaver Dam, John (Susan) Pogorelec of Wayne, NJ, Andrew (Connie) Pogorelec of West Milford, NJ, and Stephen (Maria) Pogorelec of Beaver Dam; ten grandchildren, Lisa (John) Statz, Shannon (Mike) Brooks, Sean Whitzell, Mike (Kate) Pogorelec, Nichalous Pogorelec, Joseph Pogorelec, Janice Pogorelec, Jennifer Pogorelec, Jeremy Pogorelec, and Matthew Pogorelec; seven great grandchildren, Alexandria Statz, Ian Statz, Owen Statz, Jordan Brooks, Connor Brooks, Ryleigh Brooks, and Hannah Marie Pogorelec; a great great grandson, Mateo Trujillo; a brother, Ignacy (Irena) Mysliwiec; other relatives and friends.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; and her sons, Frank Pogorelec and Joseph Pogorelec; a brother, Joseph Mysliwiec; and two sisters, Elizabeth Pogorelec and Anielia Jurgowska.
