Obituary: Rodger Drake

Rodger Drake, age 77, formerly of Beaver Dam, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home in East Troy.

There will be a visitation at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Celebrant John R. Leiting will officiate.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Rodger was born on March 25, 1937 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Russell and Linda (Pettack) Drake.  He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and worked in the printing industry throughout his life.  Rodger enjoyed carpentry, fishing, camping, and taking relaxing drives on country roads.

Survivors included six children: Gary (Jane) Drake of Batavia, IL, Debbie Burling of Springfield, MO, Linda (Tony Cole) Anngela-Cole of Reno, NV, Greg (Joan) Drake of East Troy, Lisa (Mike) Johnson of Verona, and Mike Drake of Waunakee; brothers and sisters- Robert (Muriel) Drake of Lubbock, TX, Phyllis Weideman of Waupun, Richard Drake of Beaver Dam, and Barb Shonts of Beaver Dam; eight nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Rodger was preceded in death by his parents; his son Donny; and two brothers- Kenneth and Russell.

Rodger enjoyed his 6-1/2 years at Broken Park Assisted Living in East Troy, where he was surrounded by many caring and loving staff.
