Mardi Gras -- February 17th

Feb 15, 2015 12:54PM, Published by Gene Kirschbaum, Categories:

February 17th is Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) and the Beav has tickets to New Orleans for the big event!

We "let the good times roll" on Fat Tuesday in preparation for the austerity of Ash Wednesday and Lent.

In addition to food, drink, and costumes, a signature of Mardi Gras is the transfer of beads.  Just like the people of New York -- the people of New Orleans use beads to barter for something of value.  However, instead of real estate, the prize in New Orleans is a glimpse, which was all very entertaining -- until Facebook came along and immortalized all our indiscretions . . .
