Obituary: Roger R. Ptaschinski

Roger R. Ptaschinski, 87, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam surrounded by his loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam with the Rev. Michael Erwin presiding.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam and on Friday, Feb. 20th from Noon until 1:00 p.m. at the church.  Inurnment will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Roger Robert was born the son of Alois J. and Katherine M. (Manthey) Ptaschinski on April 15, 1927 in Beaver Dam.  He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  On June 12, 1948, he was united in marriage to Gloria Mae Neuendorf.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He was a faithful member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, serving as an usher, Eucharistic minister and involved in many activities throughout the years.  Roger was very active in many areas of the Catholic Parish Schools especially in football and basketball.  He was also very active in the Beaver Dam Youth Baseball League.  Roger had been employed at Kirsch Foundry as a core marker for 45 years.  Roger was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Roger is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gloria; his five children: Pamela (Terry) Harks of Sullivan, Deborah (Patrick) Noonan of Beaver Dam, and Mark (Rita Noon) Ptaschinski of Beaver Dam, Ann Ptaschinski of Pennsylvania and Amy (Michael) Grom of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren: Ashley and Andrea Noonan, Barry and Keith Immerfall and Logan Grom; great grandchildren: Taylor, Cory and Austin Immerfall;  his brother Gerald (Lillian) Ptaschinski of Beaver Dam and sisters: Shirley Lunde of Beaver Dam and Susan (David) Rosenmeier of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law Joyce Dummer of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Jim Lunde.
