Have you witnessed large clouds of black smoke coming from the Horicon Marsh? No worries, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Wisconsin DNR have teamed up to conduct controlled burns on the Horicon Marsh. Controlled burns are a management tool that greatly improves wildlife habitat. This image is from a 3,000 acre burn consisting primarily of cattails.
