LeRoy L. Klug, 94, a resident of Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Beaver Dam passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Golden Living Center – Continental Manor in Randolph.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. The Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146 will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the church to pay their respects. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
LeRoy was born the son of Rudolph and Margaret (Nagler) Klug on January 28, 1921 in the township of Lowell, Dodge County, WI. He was married to Charlotte Klug on June 25, 1949. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2005. LeRoy was employed with John Deere Horicon Works for 30 years until his retirement in 1981.
LeRoy was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, where he served as a member of the OWLS. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII seeing action in North Africa and Italy. LeRoy was a member of the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 of Beaver Dam. His hobbies included crafting and woodworking. He enjoyed going to reunions to see his Army buddies and enjoyed spending time with his family.
LeRoy is survived by his children: Roger Klug of Clearfield, UT, Sandra (Greg) O’Dell of Randolph, and Neal (Jeanette) Klug of Fort Collins, CO; his grandchildren: Nathan and Neal Klug of Clearfield, UT, Kerstin Hitchcock of Thornton, CO, and Stephanie Klug of Fort Collins, CO; his great-grandchildren: Mekenna Klug and Booker Klug; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Charlotte, and his brothers: Alfred, Lawrence, LaVern and Melvin.
