Betty L. Sherman died April 23, 2015. Betty was born at Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on October 3, 1924 to Ernest and Clara (Berg) Bateman.  She grew up in Eau Claire and the Town of Hallie. After graduating from Eau Claire High School, she married Jerry I. Sherman on August 22, 1942.  Betty and Jerry raised their family in Chippewa Falls, later moving to Neshkoro in 1966 to work for the Evangelical United Brethren Church (now United Methodist) at Camp Lucerne.  They worked and lived at Camp Lucerne for nearly thirty years, before settling into retirement at Beaver Dam.  Betty was a voracious reader, an avid cruciverbalist, and enjoyed showing all comers how to win at “Scrabble” and “500”.  She took great delight in being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Her family will deeply miss her love and support, warm hugs, and sweet treats.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Brothers Allison, Glen, and Loren, and Sisters Virginia Rice and Nancy Thom.  She is survived by a son Bradley (Jean), and daughters Margaret Sherman, and Jane Klapoetke (Dennis).  She is further survived by her grandchildren; Paul, Amy, Eric, Christopher, and Sara; great-grandchildren Jonathan, Bethany, Carter, Tony, Pearl, and Indigo; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday May 9, 2015, at Lake Lucerne Camp and Retreat Center in Neshkoro.  Burial at the Bateman Cemetery, Lafayette Township, Chippewa County, WI.  Memorials may be made to the Beaver Dam Public Library.
