Obituary: Daniel A. “Dough Boy” Haas

Daniel A. “Dough Boy” Haas, age 33, of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home.

The visitation will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:20 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. with Fr. Mike Erwin officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Daniel Adam Haas was born on April 6, 1982 to Jerome R. and Toni J. (Spittel) Haas in Beaver Dam. He attended St. Peter’s Grade School and Beaver Dam High School. He was an all-around Wisconsin boy from adolescence on. Dan enjoyed playing little league and baseball as well as driving anything that moved. He was an outdoorsman through and through; he loved duck hunting on Beaver Dam Lake, ice fishing during every season, and camping with friends and family. Dan loved hanging out with friends and playing with their kids who all loved him. Dan worked for Blooming Acres for the past several years and took great pride in the produce that he would plant, raise and sell. In the summer months, he would enjoy playing volleyball with friends from Kamps Building and Remodeling.

Survivors are his parents, Jerry and Toni Haas of Beaver Dam; brother, Patrick Haas of Beaver Dam; maternal grandparents, Lynn and Mrilyn Spittel of Horicon; aunts and uncles, Janet Haas of Beaver Dam David Hatton of Beaver Dam, Doug and Vicki Spittel of Menomonee Falls, and Dean Spittel of Juneau; cousins, Scott Hatton of Clyman, Laura (Mike) Destefanis of Milwaukee, and Kelly (Steve) Capela of Carol Stream, IL; other relatives and many friends. Dan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Grace Haas and an aunt, Joanne Hatton.
