Obituary: Robert A. Johnson

Robert was born on January 7, 1920 in Wausau, the son of Louis and Ella (Hanson) Johnson. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps as a flight instructor. He was united in marriage to Margaret Marceau. Robert worked for the telephone company and was a member of their charitable foundation, the Pioneer Association. He was also associated with the Merrill area Jaycee’s group. In his free time he enjoyed traveling and doing carpentry, particularly making clocks.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Karen Pfiffner of Hartford, CT and Christine (Tom) Gay of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, J.R. Pfiffner, Grace Pfiffner, Adrian Gay and Carlin (Michael) Becker; great-grandchildren, Ivy and Sienna Becker. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret in 2009; siblings and other relatives.

Services for Robert will be held at a later date and inurnment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau.
