The former Catherine Theresa Kohl was born on August 22, 1930 in Waterloo, Wisconsin to the late Clifford and Josephine (Klecker) Kohl.  After graduating from Waterloo High School in 1949, she worked in Madison.  On June 25, 1949, Catherine was united in marriage with Donald F. White and was a devoted mother and wife; she also worked as the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, White Construction, which they later sold to Luken Lumber.  After her kids were grown, she worked as a clerk in the catalog department at Sears and as a bank teller at American National Bank until she retired in the early 1990’s.  In retirement, they moved to Lake Arrowhead near Rome, Wisconsin before returning to Beaver Dam in 2000.  Catherine enjoyed camping, playing cards with family and friends, bowling, and was very fond of dancing.  Her real passion was landscaping and doing yard work with her husband.  She found great pleasure in socializing with the people that came to the multitude of rummage sales she held.  Catherine was a devout catholic and was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.  She also volunteered for Meals On Wheels.

Survivors include four children, Thomas P. (Nancy) White of Waupun, Christi J. (Dean) Hansen of Manitowoc, Terrance L. (Martha) White of Beaver Dam, and Timothy D. (Jennifer) White of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren, Patrick White of Waupun, Denise (Dan) Kaas of Cleveland, WI, Kayli Posvic of Manitowoc, Adam (Nicole) White of Fox Lake, April (Daniel) Hannan of Sun Prairie, Abraham (Jillian) White of Sun Prairie, Elida White and Samuel White, both of Beaver Dam; seven great grandchildren, TavaJo, Nolan, Nora, Will, Weston, Drew, and Mari; her sisters, Marjorie Hein of Waterloo and Rosie (Thomas) Wedeward of Menomonee Falls; her sister-in-law, Shirley Kohl of Waterloo; other relatives and friends.  Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, James Kohl; and a sister, Geraldine Stark.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Hillside Manor for their loving care over the past year and to Hillside Hospice for their wonderful care over the past several weeks.
