Obituary: Ronald R. “Ron” Scott

Ronald R.  “Ron” Scott, 72 years old, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Janesville, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 14th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Collin Vanderhoof officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, July 14th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, township of Oak Grove.

Ronald was born on March 19, 1943 to Donald and Ruth (Sachs) Scott in Madison, WI. He was a graduate of Evansville High School. Ronald was united in marriage to Judith Ann Zahn on June 17, 1967 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in the township of Lomira. Ronald was employed by Midwest Plating in Genoa, IL, and later at Chrysler Corp in Belvidere, IL in the paint department for 23 years until his retirement.  Ron volunteered for Echo Food Pantry in Janesville, Meals on Wheel, and for the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary in Janesville.  After retirement, he continued volunteering with the Salvation Army, ringing bells for 15 years.

Ronald was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, and formerly a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Janesville and Peace Lutheran Church in Janesville. Ron was an avid sports fan; he loved watching Wisconsin sports and especially enjoyed auto racing. He will be remembered as a hardworking, charitable, committed and loyal family man.

Ron is survived by: his wife Judy of Beaver Dam; his brother Brent M. Scott of McFarland, WI; his sisters-in-law: Janet (Dick) Koltz of Beaver Dam and Wendy (Rev. Darryl) Kenagy of Stratford, WI; his brothers-in-law: Rev. Richard T. (Barbara) Zahn of Fond du Lac and Randall L. (Kristin) Zahn of Plymouth; his special nephews: Dan (Rebecca) Koltz and Duane (Carol) Koltz; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Scott.
