Obituary: Ruth M. “Granny” Goetsch

Ruth M. “Granny” Goetsch, age 101, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at Arcadia Assisted Living in Beaver Dam. 

A memorial gathering will be held at Chapel of the Archangels, 839 Madison Street, in Beaver Dam on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. The Memorial service will be at the chapel on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with Chaplain Carrie Slager officiating. A reception will follow the service. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Marquette, Wisconsin.

Ruth was born on January 11, 1914 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of James and Josephine (Robers) Campbell.  After graduating from high school, she was united in marriage with William Goetsch on September 5, 1934.  Ruth was a people person and she loved everyone she met.  This quality allowed her to be a wonderful CNA at Divine Savior Nursing Home in Waukesha for many years.  Ruth loved to crochet and knit, in her young years she would make beautiful quilts.  She also liked plants, especially her violets. 

Survivors include her son, Terence (Barbara) Goetsch of Horicon; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her sister, Florence Blue of Walworth County; other relatives and friends.  Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; two daughters, Carol Alexander and Rose Guptill; a grandson, William Goetsch; and a sister, Mabel Pruessing.
