Obituary: Rawald A. “Ray” Bartz

Rawald A. “Ray” Bartz, 89, of Waupun and formerly of Juneau, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

Ray was born the son of Edwin and Sylvia (Dickman) Bartz on August 28, 1925 in Sheboygan.  He was married to Janet Damrow in 1946.  He was later married to Eveyln Drucke in 1999.  Ray was self-employed in upholstery and shoemaking as well as driving school bus in Juneau for many years. 

Ray served his country in the United States Army during WWII.  He was a member of the Juneau American Legion Post #15 and the Disabled American Veterans.  Ray was a member of the Juneau Lions Club.  He was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

He is survived by his sister, Wilma Kohlhagen of Sheboygan; his nephews, Milton (Dawn) Bartz of Plymouth and Richard VanderVaart; and further survived by other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janet in 1996, his wife Evelyn in 2006, as well as other relatives.

A graveside funeral was held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Juneau. The Rev. Collin Vanderhoof officiated.
