James E. Westover, Sr., age 67, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

The memorial gathering will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m.

James Eldon Westover was born on March 18, 1948 in Randolph, Wisconsin to Harry and Doris (Krueger) Westover. On July 15, 1967, he was united in marriage with Pamela J. Garlow at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. James worked for over 30 years at the Fox Lake Correctional Institution. He enjoyed trap shooting and was voted in by his peers to the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association Hall of Fame in 2009. Jim was an avid carpenter and was known for his miniature barns. He also liked hunting, fishing and attending local sports. Jim will be fondly remembered as the bleacher coach.

Survivors are his wife Pam; children, David (Bonnie) Stainbrook, Jodie (Patrick, II) Schuster, and James (Elizabeth) Westover, Jr.; seven grandchildren, David, Alesha, Ellie, Tre, Patrick, III, James, III, and Jerek; one great grandson, Carsen; siblings, Harry (Faye) Westover, Jr., Donna Roidt, Sandra (Gerry) Miller, Walter (Jan) Westover, Sr., Linda Peterson, Randy (Justine) Westover, Sr., Richard Westover; special sister-in-law, Deanna Giese; best buddy, Kodie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; nephews, Vinnie, Ryan and Godson, Dustin; and brother-in-law, Corky Giese.
