Obituary: Mark A. Rach

Mark A. Rach, 61, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Mayville passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mark was born the son of John and Beverly (Skelton) Rach on September 6, 1954 in Virginia.  He was a 1972 graduate of Mayville High School.  Mark was married to Carol Wilbrecht on June 28, 1975 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.  He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.  Mark was employed as a tool and die maker with Metalcraft of Mayville until his retirement. 

Mark was a member of the American Legion Post #69 of Mayville.  He enjoyed camping and taking gambling trips with friends.  He was an avid Brewer and Packer fan.  Mark’s grandchildren were the love of his life.

Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol of Beaver Dam; his two children: Sarah (Dustin) Fester of Fond du Lac and Kyle (Jaclynn Hesprich) Rach of Horicon; three grandchildren: Layne and Scarlett Fester, and Aryana Rach; his siblings: Sandra (Bruce) Zilinski of Marquette, WI, John (Nancy) Trakel of Mayville, Willy (Mary) Trakel of Crivitz, Kim (Dennis) Welak of Horicon, Chuck (Dana) Trakel of Washington State, Donna (Bill) Silgman of Manchester, and Scott (Jean) Trakel of Plymouth; his mother-in-law, Wyn Wilbrecht of Madison; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bryan Rach, and his father-in-law, Carl Wilbrecht.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m.  The Rev. Daniel Seehafer will officiate.  Military honors conducted by the Mayville American Legion will follow the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Advantage’s Angel Foundation.
