Obituary: Ralph A. Tallmann, Sr.

Ralph A. Tallmann, Sr, age 83, of Juneau, died on Friday, September 25, 2015 Clearview Nursing Home. 

The visitation will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 400 S. Main St., in Juneau on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Tuesday at 3:00 PM with Rev. Paul Schupmann officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Ralph was born on September 26, 1931 in Medford, Wisconsin to August and Ida (Schulte) Tallmann.  On November 7, 1953 he was united in marriage with Betty Schmidt at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.   Ralph served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 and also in the National Guard until 1958.  He farmed throughout his life, owning and operating a dairy farm then working for Louis Nehls Farms for many years.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau, where he served on the council.  Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman and he will be missed by many.

Survivors include his sons, Allen (Debbie) of Beaver Dam, Russell (Pam) and Ralph Jr. (Amanda), both of Juneau; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ray Tallmann and Esther (Pete) Koster, both of Medford, Marcella (Bob) Lucia of Westboro, Arlene (Jim) Van Duser of Wisconsin Rapids, Ruth (Rufus) Sweeney of Milwaukee, and Elaine Maier of Kenosha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty in 2011; two daughters, Linda and Sharon; a brother Elmer and a sister Martha.

If desired, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 400 S. Main St., in Juneau.
