Obituary: Anthony B. Spangler

Anthony B. Spangler, age 63, of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Visitation for Tony will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael J. Erwin officiating.  Burial will be at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam. 

Anthony Byron Spangler was born on July 24, 1952 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Byron and Rita (Schingo) Spangler.  He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1970 and worked at Spangler’s Honda Hut for several years.  Tony had the party spirit of his mother and the mechanical skills of his father.  He loved music and enjoyed square dancing and ballroom dancing.  Tony enjoyed socializing with his friends and was always willing to help when one of his friends was in need.  Tony was a member St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council 1837, and BPOE Lodge #1540 in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his two sisters, Cindy Spangler and Tina (Chuck) Swain, both of Beaver Dam; two nephews, Charles (Jennifer) Swain of Jacksonville, FL, and Seth Andrew (Angela) Swain of Fond du Lac; a niece, Molly Swain (Jon Hill) of Fitchburg; six great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.  Tony was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, John Paul Spangler.
