Obituary: Carol A. Hoffmann

Carol A. Hoffmann, age 86 of Dalton, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with her family by her side. 

Carol was born on September 12, 1929 in the town of Kingston, the daughter of George and Lillie (Plagenz) Steffen. She was confirmed at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Kingston on April 18, 1943 and graduated from Cambria High School. On September 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to Edward H. Hoffmann at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Kingston. They farmed the family farm in the township of Scott, retiring in 1991 to their farm near Dalton. Carol was an active member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Salemville, where she enjoyed being a part of the Ladies Aid. Carol was one of the oldest members of the Green Lake County Homemakers, active since 1947. She enjoyed going to dances with her friends, playing cards and tending to her flowers. She treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Ronald) Flagel of Marquette; her sons, Allan (Nancy) Hoffmann of Dalton and Lowell (Jean) Hoffmann of Cambria; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Rebecca) Hoffmann, Jeffrey (Kelly) Hoffmann, Doyle (Tonya Henke) Hoffmann, Tracey (Mark) Hoffmann, Dustin (Brooke) Hoffmann, Megan Hoffmann, Lauren (Gerald) Chatman; eight great-grandchildren, Cohen, Blake, Rylee, Evan, Bentley, Harper, Fletcher and Ryker; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister.

A funeral service for Carol will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, N483 Cty. M in Salemville with Rev. Frank Rose officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan. Visitation will also be held prior to the service on Monday at church, beginning at 9:00 a.m. 

Burial will take place at Salemville Cemetery in the town of Manchester.
