Phyllis Triemstra, age 87, of Terre Haute, IN and formerly of Beaver Dam, WI, passed away on November 18, 2015 at Meadows Manor East in Terre Haute.

Phyllis was born on November 23, 1927 in the town of Trenton near Beaver Dam to Edwin and Margaret (Leech) Werner. She was married to George Triemstra in 1950. Phyllis was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at various businesses, but after their daughter was born, she decided to be a stay-at-home mother. She continued, however, to help George with the bookkeeping for his upholstery business.

Throughout her life, she was a very hardworking individual. She maintained the home, but enjoyed her free time square dancing, boating, traveling and taking care of her cat. She had a love for music and played the accordion for many years. When living in Beaver Dam, she attended Trinity Church – United Methodist with George, but after moving to Terre Haute, they attended First Baptist Church with their daughter and family.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Julie (Charles) Dugger of Terre Haute, her granddaughter, Madison Wagner of Terre Haute, and her step-grandchildren, Nathan Dugger and Gwendolyn Drake. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation for Phyllis will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Rev.
