Diane Kay Zastrow

Diane Kay Zastrow, age 66 of Markesan, passed away at her home on Friday, November 20, 2015 after standing strong in her faith to battle cancer for five years.

Diane was born on June 6, 1949 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Forrest and Irene (Miller) Stellmacher. She was united in marriage to Russell Zastrow on August 21, 1971. During and after high school, Diane worked as a bank teller at Farmers State Bank for eight years. With her strong work ethic, Diane and Russell ran the family farm together for 44 years. She also worked 10 years for the U.S. Postal Service as a window clerk in Fox Lake and Omro.

Diane was a member of County Line Lutheran Church, where she served time as treasurer and Sunday School teacher. She also was Town Treasurer of Mackford for 14 years. Diane loved all the time she spent with her family, especially her grandkids. She was deeply rooted in her faith and always sought direction and guidance from the Lord. She was a very humble, yet strong-willed lady and will be greatly missed.

Diane is survived by her husband, Russell of Markesan; her daughters, Amy (Brian) Pierstorff of Rosendale and Lisa Zabler of Portage; her grandchildren, Jacob and Julia Pierstorff and Tyler and Allyson Zabler; her mother, Irene Stellmacher of Markesan; her siblings, Nancy (Alan) Zastrow of Markesan, Steve (Nancy) Stellmacher of Markesan, Wayne (Barb) Stellmacher of Freedom and Sandee (Rick) Grams of Markesan; her brother-in-law, Freddie Wampler of Ohio and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Joyce Wampler; mother and father-in-law, Arthur and Mabel Zastrow; brother-in-law, Ronald Zastrow and other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Diane will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at County Line Lutheran Church, W10505 Cty Rd AW, Markesan with Rev. Bruce Engebretson officiating. Burial will be at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan and also prior to the funeral on Saturday at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
