Obituary: Sharon Jo Vander Velden

Sharon Jo Vander Velden, age 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Beaver Dam.

Sharon Jo Apps was born on November 6, 1943 in Milwaukee to Harold and Lily (Weber) Apps. On October 10, 1969 she was united in marriage to C.W. “Van” Vander Velden. Sharon enjoyed being a homemaker, raising Van’s three sons and their daughter. She also volunteered at Prince of Peace Church in Milwaukee doing secretarial and treasurer work since the 1960’s. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting for others, making huge stuffed cartoon characters for her nieces and nephews.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 46 years, Van of S. Milwaukee; her daughter, Vanessa (Larry) Mueller of Crivitz; her step-son, Randy (Paula) Vander Velden of Cudahy; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Marlene Girmscheid and Diana (Roy) Seifert; brother-in-law, Dean Vander Velden and further survived other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-sons, Tracey and Robin.

Visitation for Sharon will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Prince of Peace, 4419 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at church with Rev. Andrew Nyren officiating.
