Obituary: Harry Westover, Jr.

Harry Westover, Jr., age 77, died Monday, January 11, 2016 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

The memorial gathering will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. John R. Leiting will be the celebrant.

Harry Ludwig Westover, Jr. was born on March 31, 1938 in Randolph, Wisconsin to Harry and Doris (Krueger) Westover. He served in the Army National Guard for eight years. On August 17, 1957, Harry married Faye Desjarlais at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Columbus. He worked as a parts manager at Doering Automotive and later at Kayser Ford. Harry then became an over-the-road salesman for Kar Products until his retirement. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing, and was a lifetime member of the American Trapshooting Association. Harry loved watching sports on television and was a huge Chicago Cub’s fan. He enjoyed old cars and especially loved his own ’56 Chevy. 

Survivors are his wife Faye of Coloma; children, Harry L. (Rhonda) Westover, III of Beaver Dam and Marcia M. Leaser of Madison; five grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Lanphier of Beaver Dam, Mandy Kruger of Lodi, D.J. (Songe) Leaser of Madison, Kristin Westover of Randolph, and Jenny (Skot) Shea of Arkansas; three great granddaughters; siblings, Donna Roidt, Sandra (Gerry) Miller, Walter (Jan) Westover, Sr., Linda (Dennis) Peterson, Randy (Justine) Westover, Sr., Richard (Kathy) Westover; special sister-in-law, Pam Westover; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Westover.
