Obituary: Carolyn “Carrie” J. Walsh

Carolyn “Carrie” J. Walsh, age 78 of Fall River, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison.

Carrie was born on March 26, 1937 in Fountain Prairie, WI to Urban and Alma (Seier) Warmke. She graduated from Fall River High School and was united in marriage to John Walsh on April 12, 1958 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Doylestown. Carrie devoted her life to helping others. She proudly raised their seven children and loved her grandchildren dearly. She always made sure that everyone had plenty to eat. As the founder of Clothes for Kids in Beaver Dam, Carrie dedicated well over 20 years of her life to running it. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Doylestown and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lost Lake. She was active in the pro-life movement in her earlier years and was also an avid gardener.

Carrie is survived by the love of her life, John of Fall River; her children, Susan (Doran) Jorgenson of Stoughton, Timothy (Mary Zabel) Walsh of Milford, Michael (Rosa) Walsh of Fall River, Terese (Mark) Hepp of New Hope, MN, Nancy Shoup of SD, Joelyn (Michael) Slowiak of Kiel and Mary (John) Bushaw of Randolph; 26 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; her sister, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick of CT; 2 brothers, Fred (Sandy) Warmke of Beaver Dam and Marvin Warmke; her extended family of Clothes for Kids volunteers and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 2 grandchildren; 2 sons-in-law and other relatives.

A Memorial Gathering for Carolyn will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 a St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Doylestown from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. A Rosary Service will take place at 11:45 a.m., followed by the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. with Father Steve Kortendick as Celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Lost Lake, at a later date.

Memorials in Carrie’s name may be directed to Clothes for Kids (1019 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam), Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County (108 Parallel St., Beaver Dam) or Agrace HospiceCare (5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy, Fitchburg).
